He doesn't simply "allow" suffering. He decreed it in Gen 3.

Theists, why does God allow suffering..
by The Quiet One in..specifically, the suffering of animals.
you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.

Two questions to make one think
by Rufus T. Firefly inhow do you think the wtb&ts (and the average jw) would answer the following two questions?
how would you answer them?.
(1) can one be a genuine christian without being a jw?.

I agree with you. Faith (in Christ) is a gift from God.

I hope this answers your question.
No, actually it doesn't. To a JW and the WT it's ALL about what you do (it's easy to put on a show). To God it's about what we believe.
If you want to genuinely change your actions, change what you believe about God. That is the whole idea of being "genuine".

Is "being a Christian" about what you do, or what you believe?
Is "being a JW" about what you do or what you believe?

i think i found a church
by unstopableravens ini really enjoyed church today, i have been visting serevel in the last few weeks, all the ones i have been to have been okay, but no more, but today i felt comfortable with everything i seen.
it seemed very doctrinally sound, christ centered and the big bonus i did not hear a word about money!
they did not pass a plate(i dont know if they do but today there was none).

unstopable
A wise friend once told me, "If you find a perfect church don't join it, because you will ruin it".
I'm glad I found one that needs the gospel, every minute of every day.

Death
by punkofnice inwhen i was a dub i was petrified of displeasing the trademark imaginary god that the wbt$ had invented.
i feared that kind of death.. the thought of being unconscious totally forevermore seems so weird.. now that i know the wbt$ was lying (as usual), and i realise there can't possibly be a god as described in religion i am now faced with the reality that i'll be dead and gone with nothing to carry me on after in a conscious way.
just because i don't want this to happen doesn't mean it won't.. oh, darn!

Didn't you conclude13.8 billions years based on that Math?
No. You are muddling the age of the universe with precession of the universe.
Don't blame me for asking, I didn't tell someone how long they didn't exist.

You are asking questions for which we don't yet have good mathemathics to describe and or observational evidence.
Didn't you conclude13.8 billions years based on that Math?

Why just 13.8 billions years? What made you pick that number?

A Quote from the January Public Watchtower: SHOULD YOU FEAR THE END OF THE WORLD?
by Londo111 ina little preamble: of the handful of online friends i've made during my time on jwn, auntbee has certainly been the best.
the time and dedication that she has to help jws is amazing, even more amazing when one considers she was never a jw herself.
she is very well read.

He Is Risen, the axial component of christianity
by designs insunday hundreds of millions and possibly up to two billion people will join in some service in observance of the resurrection of jesus.
it is the central issue which takes the teachings of jesus from the philosophy of doing good to others to the ultimate truth which it claims.
it was the axial argument of the apostle paul in 1 cor.

I'm not sure why but I can't access the bottom of page 4 of this thread. So I can't see the last few responces.
